Here's a rundown of the changes to the updated and expanded College Football Transfer Portal Top247. In addition to having the most comprehensive transfer rankings in the college football space, 247Sports uses these ratings to create Team Transfer Rankings and also has an algorithm for Overall Team Rankings, which combines transfer prospects and recruits into a total look at a team's incoming talent. The 2022 NFL Draft saw 37 non-JUCO transfers get drafted, a huge jump from 2021. Each year, the rating scale - an 80 to 100 - has gotten higher to reflect the impact transfers have had on college football, especially the one-time transfer waiver in place. This marks Year 3 of 247Sports assigning ratings to transfers. Something to keep in mind, as we look at new rankings adjustments, is the criteria we rank each player based on - previous college production, film evaluation, intel, NFL Draft projection and high school ranking. In order to render the most accurate rankings possible, we have continued to gather intel and evaluate new film and statistics on each prospect in the transfer portal. To accurately portray the impact that they'll have on their teams this fall, 247Sports has updated a number of player ratings while expanding the College Football Transfer Portal Rankings to a Top247 - getting us in-line with what we do in the recruiting space. The past few months gave us the opportunity to re-evaluate a bevy of transfer portal players at their new school, while grading players who entered during the April 15-30 window. College football has hit its summer months, which means we're quickly leaving the offseason in the dust and accelerating to the start of the 2023 season.
